Bergamot Sour Oranges – 10 Pounds
Now with FedEx Shipping INCLUDED in the price!
Bergamot Sour Orange…You might know bergamot sour oranges as a yellowish green fruit used for sauces, perfumes, marmalades, and even exotic recipes. However, they are probably better known for their production of bergamot oil, a component of many types of tea, particularly Earl Grey tea. Bergamots are thought to be a hybrid of sour orange and citron or lemon, and if you ever tried one “as is” you would probably agree that they are! Historically speaking, the word bergamot is believed to come from the Turkish term “beg-armade,” meaning “Lord’s pear“. They are primarily grown in southern Italy, in which the majority of the world’s supply of bergamot sour oranges now comes. However, if you are looking to buy them, you don’t have to travel to Italy (although it does sound like it would be fun) in order to get some for your very own. You can now buy California grown bergamot sour oranges from Pearson Ranch, right here in the beautiful San Joaquin Valley!
When are Bergamot Sour Oranges available? Bergamots have a rather short harvesting season. They are typically available from LATE NOVEMBER thru January. Due to their limited quantities and short season, annual market pricing will also vary from season to season. Please call Pearson Ranch at 1-888-667-2643 to check on availability!

Juice Grapefruit – 35 Pounds
(35 lbs. is approx. 36-56 grapefruits)
Juice grade grapefruit from Pearson Ranch is the way to go when you’re ready to skip the…”store bought and (probably) pasteurized, God only knows where the grapefruit came from, bad for the environment, plastic bottle nonsense.” You already know that making your own grapefruit juice always tastes way better than pre-bottled juice. But here’s something you may not know about buying “grocery store” grapefruit juice…
Buying previously squeezed grapefruit juice can be convenient, but did you know, store bought grapefruit juice is usually pasteurized? And what does that do? That boils out essential vitamins? So not only is the fresh juice that you make yourself more delicious, it also contains more of the good stuff you’re looking for (like Vitamin C)! And did you know some store bought grapefruit juice actually contains added sugar, and or sweeteners?!? Who needs that? Besides, hasn’t it become increasingly important to keep you and your family in the best health possible? Everyone seems to think so. So why not make fresh squeezed, Vitamin C’ packed grapefruit juice a part of your daily health regimen, and save a little money when buying these lower priced grapefruit. Besides…it’s so easy squeezy!
What are Juice Grade Grapefruits?
Juice Grade Grapefruits aren’t always the “belle of the ball” in the world of fresh produce. Juice grapefruit can have scars, be oddly shaped, minor sun damage or even show signs of ice or hail marks. Or quite simply, they can be leftover fruit that couldn’t find a home. But like so many things of beauty, it’s really what’s on the inside that counts most! And juice grade grapefruit is certainly no exception. Don’t think for a minute that these grapefruits are not as delicious as our Premium Grade Grapefruit. In fact, just like all the other wonderful citrus products we sell, they come with our personal satisfaction guarantee!
What Kind of Grapefruit Will Be In My Order?

Tarocco Blood Oranges – 20 Pounds
Tarocco Blood Oranges
Tarocco Blood Oranges from Pearson Ranch are technically the sweetest of the blood varieties. Tarocco Blood Oranges are a medium sized blood orange variety with virtually no seeds (although you may occasionally find one). The distinctive color in blood oranges, believe it or not, is a natural mutation and not due to being a cross bred variety of citrus, as some believe. On the inside, the red color is due to the presence of anthocyanin, the same plant compound that is responsible for the color of pomegranates. However, an interesting thing about the color of the Tarocco blood orange variety, is that they can have inconsistent coloring inside. So when it comes to the distinctive blood color, sometimes it can be the “luck of the draw” that determines how much red color you will find in each orange. On the outside, the rind of Taroccos have very little to no coloration at all, so they will look more like a regular orange. Having long been cultivated in Mediterranean climates like Spain and Sicily, California blood oranges have been on the map a while too now. And as you know, some of the best oranges in the world come from The San Joaquin Valley of California, with blood varieties being no exception.
