Pearson Ranch believes in helping worthy charitable organizations that you may not even know exist. The big charities get plenty of exposure on T.V., radio and the internet, but for lesser known charities in need, they can always use a hand, or in the case of the one we support…a paw! We would like to introduce to you The Performing Animal Welfare Society or (PAWS).

Since 1984, The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) has been at the forefront of efforts to rescue and provide appropriate, humane sanctuary for large animals who have been the victims of the exotic and performing animal trades. PAWS investigates reports of abused performing and exotic animals, documents cruelty and assists in investigations and prosecutions by regulatory agencies to alleviate the suffering of captive wildlife. PAWS maintains three sanctuaries for captive wildlife in Northern California, and currently cares for ELEPHANTS, TIGERS AND BEARS (oh my!) At PAWS sanctuaries, rescued animals live in peaceful and natural habitats, free from fear, chains, and harsh confinement, and are at complete liberty to act out natural behaviors in the comfort of their individually designed enclosures. PAWS animals are not bred, traded, sold, rented or forced to perform in any way. The animals are cared for by a team of more than 30 knowledgeable, well trained, and compassionate keepers, wildlife specialists, and veterinarians, who together provide 24/7 care, which is always a great thing for these wonderful creatures. PAWS is accredited by the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS) and is licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

How you can help the animals of PAWS

As it turns out, large animals like elephants and bears LOVE oranges! So if you feel that you would like to make a donation of 20 or 35 pounds of ORANGES to the large animals at PAWS, we know they would more than appreciate it!

Here’s how to make your tax deductible donation of sweet and juicy oranges to the animals. Just purchase a 20 or 35 pound box of our special “Pearson Ranch PAWS Pack” of oranges (please be sure to use the mailing address below). We then ship the boxes directly to the PAWS sanctuary from our farm in California. Once at PAWS, the fresh oranges are fed to the animals to enjoy as sweet, delicious and nutritious treats! The one price includes all FedEx shipping and handling costs too. Be sure to add your personal message to PAWS (and the animals) in the message section at the checkout page. Also, don’t forget to include YOUR MAILING ADDRESS, that way PAWS can send you a “Thank You” card along with your charitable tax deduction letter* in the mail!
