Discover a "taste for gold" when you bite into these delicious, California grown, Oroblanco Grapefruit from Pearson Ranch. Referring to the subtle "white" flesh of the fruit, oro blanco in Spanish literally means "white gold." Though the technical name of the variety is spelled as one word (Oroblanco), it is commonly accepted spelled as two separate words. Either way, oroblanco or oroblanco grapefruit is a cross between a pomelo and a white grapefruit. Sometimes also referred to as a "Sweetie", they are indeed sweet while lacking the bitterness of a common grapefruit. With a thicker skin, they are as easy to peel as an orange, and filled with up to 110% of the recommended daily allowance for Vitamin C' in each one, you will be eager to start your day at the breakfast table ready to... "go for the gold!"
When are Oroblancos available?
Oroblancos have a rather short harvesting season. They are typically available from Mid November thru April. Due to their limited quantities and short season, annual market pricing will also vary from season to season. Please call Pearson Ranch at 1-888-667-2643 to check on availability!
When to buy the Oroblancos you want. When ordering Oroblancos in mid November, the exterior is still GREEN and will start to turn yellow as the season progresses. But don't worry, that sweet, delicious, citrusy flavor and fragrance is already there!! However, if you want to make sure your Oroblancos arrive with a YELLOW exterior, you can wait until the first part of January to place your order at which time they should be full color!
A half order of Oroblancos is 10 pounds (approx 6-12 per box)

These are just delicious!! I order each year and thoroughly enjoy them. Many people shy away from grapefruits thinking they are tart, BUT, these are sweet and juicy. I urge anyone who likes grapefruit to absolutely try these. I am so glad I discovered them online and can get them shipped to my home.

I read many reviews and articles about Oroblanco grapefruit and had my doubts. I mean come on, it’s a grapefruit, right? Wrong! These are incredibly tasty and sweet. Unlike most other grapefruit, you can eat these as you would an orange, the whole segment (membrane and flesh). There is no bitterness in the membrane. If you’re wondering if these grapefruit deserve all the stellar, five-star reviews, yes they really do.

Ora Blanco grapefruit
We received our order as promised a little over two weeks ago. The last grapefruit was eaten this morning and it was just as good as the first one.
The fruit arrived in time and wax well packed. Very little if any bruising. Some of the best citrus fruit ever shipped to me.
The flavor and juiciness was wonderful. I give this purchase an 5 star rating because it’s deserved!

Bomb Oroblancos
I've tried Oroblancos many times and I'm usually disappointed. Pearson's Oroblancos do not disappoint. My kids eat them faster than I can cut them (not exaggerating). We would have eaten the entire box in the first two days if my hand wasn't tired from all the cutting. I don't get to eat many because I'm too tired of cutting by the time the kids finish. Unreal flavor balance, excellent texture. Not sure what Pearson does different from other providers, but these are in a class of their own. Bravo!

I received my grapefruit in good shape and in a timely manner. The price for the fruit is fair, it is too bad that shipping is so costly as I would order them every other week. I gifted 2 orders for my cousin's in cold climates and they loved them. I think that my cousin in Oregon is a fan for life !
