Shasta Gold Mandarins are a recently developed hybrid (of the Temple Tangor, Dancy Mandarin, and Encore Mandarin) and known for their larger size. Unique in their deep orange, bumpy (easy to peel) rind and rich flavor, they virtually have no seeds! Thanks to a superb balance of the sugar to acid ratio, the flavor is that of tangerine-mandarin and with subtle almost tropical flavors. Are These Like The Ones Named After Big Japanese Wrestlers?
Yes, they are very similar in that incredible citrus flavor to the big bumpy citrus named after big, Japanese wrestlers ("Sum0 Citrus"), but these have a longer growing season, which means the Shasta Golds are usually available when the others aren't.
When Are Shasta Gold Mandarins Available?
Shastas are a late-season variety of mandarin, usually available from March through June, depending of course on seasonal weather conditions and availability.
How many pieces of fruit will I get in my order?
Depending on the available sizes of fruit at the time of harvest, we ship the largest ones we can with a minimum of at least 4 larger pieces that fit into a FedEx Medium size box. If we can fit more in the box without causing any damage, we will.

Lemons were great. Shipping was an issue, first it didn’t go out on time due to weather and then fedx left box outside an open gate on a long driveway. As a result recipient didn’t know it was there until much later.
