Discover a "taste for gold" when you bite into these delicious, California grown, Oroblanco Grapefruit from Pearson Ranch. Referring to the subtle "white" flesh of the fruit, oro blanco in Spanish literally means "white gold." Though the technical name of the variety is spelled as one word (Oroblanco), it is commonly accepted spelled as two separate words. Either way, oroblanco or oroblanco grapefruit is a cross between a pomelo and a white grapefruit. Sometimes also referred to as a "Sweetie", they are indeed sweet while lacking the bitterness of a common grapefruit. With a thicker skin, they are as easy to peel as an orange, and filled with up to 110% of the recommended daily allowance for Vitamin C' in each one, you will be eager to start your day at the breakfast table ready to... "go for the gold!
When are Oroblancos available?
Oroblancos have a rather short harvesting season. They are typically available from Mid November thru April. Due to their limited quantities and short season, annual market pricing will also vary from season to season. Please call Pearson Ranch at 1-888-667-2643 to check on availability!
When to buy the Oroblancos you want. When ordering Oroblancos in mid November, the exterior is still GREEN and will start to turn yellow as the season progresses. But don't worry, that sweet, delicious, citrusy flavor and fragrance is already there!! However, if you want to make sure your Oroblancos arrive with a YELLOW exterior, you can wait until the first part of January to place your order at which time they should be full color!

Sweet and juicy
